Abstract
This chapter covers some of the platforms providing free chat LLMs access.
Here are some of the platforms providing free LLM access. For example, the ChatGPT chatbot allows free access to the GPT-3.5 chat model while the Bard chatbot provides free access to the Gemini Pro model.
Unlike these platforms which provide free access to proprietary chat LLMs only, platforms like Hugging Chat provide access to open-source chat LLMs while platforms like Chatbot Arena provide access to both free and proprietary chat LLMs.
🟧 ChatGPT
ChatGPT, launched in November 2022, is a powerful chatbot developed by OpenAI, that attracted millions of users within a few weeks. ChatGPT is capable of engaging in diverse dialogues, answering questions, offering explanations, and even crafting creative content like stories or poems. A notable aspect of ChatGPT is its adaptability and application across various domains, from educational assistance to customer service and entertainment.
The free version of ChatGPT allows you to use the GPT-3.5-based chat model and is more than enough for many of the tasks. However, to access advanced features like Plugins, GPTs image generation using DaLLE-3, etc, you need to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus with a monthly pay of $20.

🟨 Bard
Similar to ChatGPT, Bard is an advanced chatbot launched by Google. The announcement and launch of Bard is in response to the growing popularity of OpenAI's ChatGPT. Bard chatbot is powered by the latest and advanced Google AI model, Gemini. A key aspect of Bard is its potential integration with Google's search engine, harnessing the company's expertise in organizing and presenting information.
As of now, Bard is completely free to use. It is expected that after the launch of Gemini Ultra, the Bard premium version with advanced features may be launched, similar to ChatGPT Plus.

🟩 Bing Chat
Bing Chat, powered by GPT-4 is launched as a major update to the Bing search experience. Bing Chat offers a more engaging approach to searching for information online. In contrast to traditional search engines that merely provide a list of links, Bing Chat provides users with direct and conversational replies to their queries.
The integration of GPT-4 ensures that Bing Chat can provide comprehensive and detailed answers, often pulling information from various sources to present a well-rounded response.

🟦 You Chat
Similar to Bing Chat, You Chat is an AI-based conversational chatbot added to the You search engine to enhance the user experience. Unlike Bing Chat which is completely free to use, You Chat has both free and premium versions.
The free version of You Chat provides limited usage of chat LLMs while the premium version provides unlimited (fair usage policy applies) access to chat LLMs.

🟪 Chatbot Arena
Chatbot Areana introduced by lmsys.org provides free (limited) access to both open-source and proprietary chat LLMs. Some of the proprietary chat LLMs supported by this platform are GPT-3.5, GPT-4, Claude etc.
Some of the open-source chat LLMs supported by this platform are Falcon, Solar, Code Llama, OpenChat 3.5, Zephyr etc. Chatbot Arena is available as a Gradio web app.
